Ange Confirms Major Celtic injury Boost

It was far from ideal when Gorgios Giakoumakis pulled up during his track side warm up during the Raith Rovers game on Thursday night. The Greek striker was set to make his debut and his Celtic Park bow when he felt his calf go.

The player was sent for a scan with Celtic fearing the worst over the player’s health.

Ange Postecoglou has delivered good news and a bit more information on the injury and the striker’s return.

“It wasn’t just the injury which we thought might be significant. We thought he might have to go back into rehab.

“But the fact the scan has come back pretty good means he can get back out training again.

He only really missed two days of training and had a session (on Sunday),” Postecoglou told STV. “Hopefully he’ll be back training with the group early in the week.”

Celtic are in desperate need of reinforcements and if they can get the frontman fit and firing it will take a lot of the weight off this side. The hoops created a lot of chances on Sunday against Dundee Utd but Ajeti was not at the races.

We need to see the Giakoumakis who terrorised the Dutch top flight last season when he does get onto the pitch.

Hopefully, he can feature against Aberdeen before the international break.

If Celtic can get a win against the Dons by hook or by crook, they can regroup.
