Ange Backfire; Boss Learns Valuable Lesson

I feel like I must prefix any criticism of the manager by saying I’m fully behind Ange and what he’s done for the Hoops in such a short space of time, but if he makes an iffy selection, it’s ok to point it out.

Tonight, a few eyebrows were raised when both Matt O’Riley and Tom Rogic started the match tonight. Many suspected it would be one or the other alongside Reo Hatate. Instead, the Japanese midfielder sat on the bench and didn’t get on until Celtic were 2-0 down in the tie.

It was a glaring mistake on the night and something the manager must take into account going forward.

Reo has been great since coming in and to put him on the bench tonight might have not completely changed the result but could have perhaps helped when Celtic were attempting to get a foothold in the game.

It was a night when too many players were off it. Celtic were washed out in midfield and Bodo were the better team.

We’d be surprised if we saw Tom and Matt in the same starting XI any time soon.
