Now, Postecoglou is considering another acquisition from Japan, with Ryotaro Ito emerging as a potential target for the Scottish club according to RecordSport.
Seeking to bolster the midfield and attacking positions of his treble-seeking squad this summer, Postecoglou is keen on recruiting young talent from the Far East. Celtic’s scouting team has been focusing on Japanese players, and Ito has caught their attention.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been instrumental in helping Albirex Niigata secure promotion back to the J-League.
Ito’s impressive performances earned him recognition as one of the top players in the J2 League last year.
His previous experience includes stints at Urawa Red Diamonds, where he won a J-League Cup and the AFC Champions League. Postecoglou’s familiarity with the Japanese market stems from his time as manager of Yokohama Marinos.
