Ange Addresses Shocking Ibrox Incident

ANGE POSTECOGLOU addressed the shameful actions of the Ibrox supporters who attempted to hit Greg Taylor with missiles during the 2-2 Glasgow derby draw on Monday.

The two Glasgow sides shared the spoils after a late Kyogo goal saved the day.

During the game, Greg Taylor was targeted by missiles from the home end, when he was coming off injured.

It’s not the first instance of this at Ibrox; a Celtic physio was struck and cut open last April during Celtic’s 2-1 win. In the past we’ve witnessed glass bottles enter the Ibrox field, batteries and coins. It’s something that continues to go unaddressed by the home club and the football authorities in this country.

Asked about the latest incident — Ange was clearly irritated by the moronic nature of the incident.

“Greg wasn’t rattled, but it’s annoying and not something you want to see.” The Celtic gaffer told SunSport.

“We saw it in another Premiership game last weekend and it’s just nonsense. People should know better these days.

“There are players out there putting their bodies on the line as it is.

“You don’t need that kind of stuff coming over the fence.

“When you know 99 per cent of the people in the stadium are doing the right thing, it’s sad that a couple seem to think something like that would have an effect.

“Players are out there giving their all for their teams. Irrespective of which side you support, you should be able to support them without doing any stupid things like that.”

Very well put by the Celtic manager. It’s regrettable we don’t see more action on the matter or culpability. CCTV and Police Scotland should be able to identify the culprits.

On the day, a Celtic fan was also struck by a glass bottle from the upper tier. Having to receive treatment inside the stadium.

When will this be stopped?
