ANDY WALKER has stuck up for Celtic’s Greg Taylor after Kris Boyd believed that the Hoops can’t have any complaints with VAR’s decisions in their 5-1 win over St Mirren.

Greg Taylor was deemed to have handled the ball about four minutes after the incident took place, with a check happening at least two and a half minutes after the ‘hand ball’.
The pair were in the studio for the match, with James McFadden in commentary. The former Motherwell man sympathised with Greg Taylor, admitting he didn’t believe it was a penalty, but going by what he’s seen awarded by Scottish referees this season, he respected the left-back to be punished.
Walker and Boyd had opposing opinions on the first half’s incidents, which was no surprise to viewers.
Walker stood firm in his stance, saying:
“Absolutely not, a ridiculous decision. Look at the position of the referee, David Dickinson. He’s looking right at it. He’s in the perfect position to see that and I think he calls it right.
“What do you want Greg Taylor to do with his body? What do you want him to do? What is he, half a yard away from that? I think it’s a ridiculous decision to have that overturned.”
Boyd hit back:
“It’s a penalty kick. I know you can’t get your hand out the way sometimes but at the end of the day Alex Grieve is getting it at the other side. It’s a penalty kick.”
Walker was having none of it, calling out Dallas in the VAR room:
“These are ridiculous decisions when you see a referee, who is ten yards away from it, and he makes the call that it’s not a penalty. Then you’ve got Andrew Dallas at VAR who says you’ve made a mistake… and he made a mistake in the other call as well.”
Kris Boyd tried to keep the halftime argument going post-match, saying live on Sky Sports:
“Andrew Dallas on VAR hasn’t got anything wrong today.”
