Andros Townsend Reveals Celtic Transfer Stance

ANDROS TOWNSEND is now out of contract with Crystal Palace and no extension has been forthcoming to this point.

The English winger has been a victim of the upheaval at Palace with no manager in place for the new season as of yet.

The 29-year-old is now looking ta all his options and when asked about a potential move north of the border, the player wouldn’t rule it out.

“I’m open to everything,” Townsend told TalkSport as quoted by HITC.

“If there’s an option that presents itself and it’s the best one for me and fulfils my needs, I wouldn’t turn it down just because it’s in another country.”

Townsend will turn 30 before the new season begins and wouldn’t strike us as a Celtic type of deal.

Tranfermarkt have the player’s transfer value sitting at £6m, so to grab a bargain like that could be appealing.

The bhoys need a mix of youth and experience, we do have James Forrest on the right but we saw how a long term injury affected the side last term and not having a viable option other than James.

Given the wages Andros would demand, I doubt Celtic would bring him in to play second fiddle.

It seems like a move that wouldn’t suit the club despite the bargain.
