Record Sport missed the bigger story this morning when they reported on Celtic’s Friday training session.

The bhoys are up at Lennoxtown being put through their paces ahead of a preseason tour of Austria and Switzerland.

The Record let it be known that Marvin Compper was part of the training session, however, it’s the guy next to him that is the talking point of the session.

American defender Andrew Gutman is training with the Celtic squad and we can only assume is available for the first team if Neil Lennon wants to use him. Andrew has been on loan to Charlotte Independence since signing for the club in January and there was no time scale put in place for the defender’s actual arrival at Celtic Park. Today we could have got our answer. Will Manny Perez be joining him at Lennoxtown? From the pictures we’ve seen so far we can’t see if Manny has also come over.
