“Amazing” – Scott Brown Hailed After Helping To Orchestrate Testimonial

Former Celtic captain and club legend Scott Brown played in a testimonial on Sunday along with two of his old teammates Charlie Mulgrew and Mark Wilson. After it, the ex-Fleetwood boss was praised for the role he played in helping organise the game.

The match was in honour of Queen of the South legend Stephen Dobbie, who hailed Brown: “When you get the likes of Colin Hendry and Scott Brown involved that always helps”, he said (The Times). “Broony has been amazing rallying the players, especially after the initial game moved. That was very much appreciated.”

In the match, Brown deliberately gave away a penalty so that Dobbie had the opportunity to score in his final appearance on a football pitch. This was a classy gesture from the 38-year-old who has undoubtedly mellowed since his playing days.

With a full head of hair, Brown seems to have lost his ‘hardman’ persona, but he remains as gentlemanly as ever. He will have relished the chance to get back onto the pitch and play with some of his ex-teammates and against his old foes.

He has spent a relatively long period out of the game now since his Fleetwood departure. He left the Cods in September, and Brown has previously admitted he is eager to get back into management. It is about finding the right opportunity, though, and that is yet to arise.
