Amazing: 40-Year-Old Former Celtic Hero Lands New Contract with Club Side

It seems like a long time ago since he was wearing those famous hoops and even then it looked like his career was winding down.

It was back in 2009, almost a decade ago that Shunsuke Nakamura played his last game for Celtic. Then, 31, Nakamura moved to Spanish football with Espanyol after a breathtaking four years at Celtic where he made some memorable moments.

The Japanese Star has always taken care of himself, and his dead-ball experience means he can always bring value to a team. Widely recognised as one of the best set piece takers of his generation, Nakamura dazzled Celtic fans with what he could do on a football field.

Twice beating Edwin van der Sar in the same season with two outstanding free kicks, one at Old Trafford and the other at Celtic Park – the latter taking Celtic through to the last 16 of the Champions League.

As we say, it seems like a lifetime ago BUT Nakamura is still playing, and at the age of 40, he has signed a new deal with Júbilo Iwata who play in Japan’s top flight!

If you’ve still got it then keep going!
