Ally McCoist Makes Surprisingly Honest Celtic Admission

ALLY MCCOIST has told TalkSport breakfast he is ‘concerned’ as Celtic head towards ten in a row.

The former Ibrox player and manager tried to pour some cold water on the title if Celtic are crowned champions this time around with eight games to go. However, he was honest enough to admit, Celtic getting to ten in a row is concerning for him.

It’s a bit misguided because Celtic were the first to do nine in a row and all that his club did was match the feat in the 90s. If anything, Celtic are out to win ten and break the record held by themselves.

Jock Stein’s team did nine titles in a row and set the benchmark. That’s why it was so important for Celtic to stop the ten back in 1998. It was on the final day of the league season when goals from Henrik Larsson and Harold Brattback brought the run to an end. You can watch that game on BBC Scotland this Sunday – Read Here.

Speaking on Talksport as cited by SunSport, McCoist is worried about Celtic making a new record in the coming year or so.

“I would be telling you a lie if I didn’t say it wasn’t a disappointment or a real concern or a worry.

“But this league is bizarre and you know what it’s like, particularly in Scotland, it’s worse than anywhere else.

“Because there will be an element, if Celtic are given the title, they’ll feel it’s unfair and unjust.

“But like I’ve said, you’re not going to please everybody. Nobody is going to be pleased with some of the decisions that have to be made.

“I’d not like to be in the shoes of the people that have got to make these decisions. Whether Celtic are given the title or not, whether Liverpool are given the title or not, it remains to be seen.

“But in terms of 10 in a row, of course it’s a concern. I’d be lying to you if I said it wouldn’t be.”

Celtic are waiting to see what will happen next with this season. With eight games to go and thirteen points clear, nobody can realistically say they don’t deserve to be champions.
