ALLY MCCOIST has claimed his former club just can’t match Celtic’s energy level on the pitch.
The player turned pundit believes Celtic are reaping the rewards of a more direct and exciting style of football and Giovanni’s side need to match.
“There’s an energy level that Celtic posses which Rangers haven’t been matching, particularly in wide areas of the pitch,” he told Football Scotland.
“Celtic are really direct and positive and you can see that the other players in the squad are really benefiting from the directness of Celtic in the wide areas.”
It’s no accident and Celtic really do benefit from having an identity on the pitch. The players are well drilled and even when Ange Postecoglou makes three or four changes, the style of football doesn’t change.
Celtic came out of their sticky patch of form this week when they blasted six past Hibernian at Celtic Park. The free flowing and entertaining football from Ange’s side blew Hibs away.
The Rangers squeezed past Motherwell on Sunday in a game that lacked any sort of entertainment for the neutral. Winning is all that matters of course.

Celtic have taken 9 off Dundee Utd in a game and 6 off Hibernian, even 4 off The Rangers. There’s so many threats from our attacking players these bigger results are always on the table.
