Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley won the Man of the Match award in his team’s 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday evening. The Danish internationalist was on-form and posted on Instagram post-match.
Indeed O’Riley captioned his post with ‘All to play for’ and among the comments was transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano. He commented with a star emoji although hilariously, Alistair Johnston replied to him, simply putting ’50m +’:

Should the 22-year-old continue on with his current form, a fee such as the one Johnston mentioned could eventually become realistic. Right now, though, the Hoops would likely earn a lesser amount than that if they did sell O’Riley.

In spite of this, it was recently said by Romano that the club would demand a record Scottish transfer fee that exceeds the £25m Arsenal paid for Kieran Tierney in 2019 for O’Riley.
He did pen a new deal last month, but with his form, there is bound to be a wealth of interest in him. Brendan Rodgers will be hoping he can keep him at the club for as long as possible.
