Celtic supporters were left concerned over the fitness of Canadian international Alistair Johnston, who was forced to limp off in Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-victory against The Rangers.
The right-back, who joined the club in January from Montreal Impact, sustained an ankle injury during a challenge on Borna Barisic.
There’s good news and bad news on the injury front. Record Sport report that early indications suggest that he could be out of action for up to four weeks, although this will depend on how he responds to treatment.

The bad news is that Johnston will miss this weekend’s potential title winning game against Hearts, but the good news is the Celtic support will now be hopeful that he will be available for the Scottish Cup final against Inverness.
The showpiece end of season final is scheduled for June 3rd which gives AJ a fighting chance of making it.
Johnston has become a key player under Ange Postecoglou since his arrival, following the departure of Josip Juranovic in January.

His impressive performances have helped the club to chase a treble, which would be a major achievement in Postecoglou’s second season in charge.
While this injury is a setback for the club, they do have cover in Anthony Ralston.
Nonetheless, the Celtic support will be hoping to see Johnston back on the pitch as soon as possible, as they aim to finish the season on a high.
The injury didn’t dampen his spirits on Sunday at Hampden, with the Celtic star jumping around on crutches to celebrate reaching the final.
