Alistair Johnston Reveals His Hilarious Existing Victor Wanyama Connection

Celtic came away with three vital Scottish Premiership points on Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t the prettiest of displays, but the win was secured regardless.

Alistair Johnston’s strike within the opening two minutes proved to be the only goal of the game. Coupled with a clean sheet, it was a productive afternoon for the Candian right-back.

A few days before the game, Johnston was speaking on the Official Celtic FC Podcast. The 25-year-old revealed that his old teammate and ex-Celtic hero Victor Wanyama is now living in his old flat: “He’s in my apartment that I used to be in”, he said.

“He’s struggling to figure out how to switch over to my Wi-Fi – it’s a long story, the poor guy.”

At CF Montreal in the MLS, the pair played together for a year. They developed a positive relationship, and are still in touch.

It was the Kenyan midfielder who initially encouraged Johnston to join Celtic, and it is fair to say his advice has proved productive. Although he may have fallen off in recent months, on the whole, the treble-winner’s move to Glasgow has worked out.

He won three trophies at the club in his first six months, and the full-back will be aiming to add to such a tally in 2024. The league and cup remain up for grabs, with the Celts thoroughly in contention for a double.
