Alistair Johnston In Brilliant Response To Postecoglou Spurs Links

Celtic are on the cusp of a record breaking eighth domestic treble although the club’s manager, Ange Postecoglou, is generating concrete interest from South of the border.

Tottenham Hotspur are being widely reported as wanting the Australian as their new boss.

This has filled Celtic fans with a wealth of anxiety as it is fair to say Postecoglou has overseen a footballing revolution in Glasgow’s east end which has been vastly positive.

The players seem to adorn him as much as the fans and because of the growing Spurs links, one imagines outside noise could get into the dressing room, the last thing the Bhoys need ahead of a final.

Nevertheless, Alistair Johnston spoke to the media and wittily said this is in no way the case. Johnston quipped (Glasgow Times):

“Trust me, we all hear the noise. We’ve got Sky Sports on and it seems like it’s every other story running is that one.

“Again, it comes from the top down. Cal (McGregor) doesn’t let any noise in and the gaffer definitely doesn’t let any noise in.

“This ship is steering right where it needs to go towards that cup final.

“We just don’t let that sort of stuff creep into the building in terms of letting guys’ heads turn. That’s super important and it goes to show why this club has been so successful.”

It is no surprise that the Celtic dressing room is water-tight when. it comes to outside noise.

Of course players catch wind of news and rumours although it does not affect them one iota.

Let’s hope this is once more the case come Saturday when the Bhoys get the opportunity to wrap up their domestic treble versus Inverness in the Scottish Cup final.
