Alistair Johnston Gains More Celtic Recognition

Celtic won 2-0 up in Dingwall on Sunday as Ange Postecoglou helped retain his side’s nine point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

As much as Jota, who scored and assisted alike, was a standout in the fixture, it is Celtic right back Alistair Johnston who has made the latest SPFL Team of the Week.

The Canadian was stout at right back throughout the match. He was also able to contribute going forward, bombing up and down the right as he flashed some dangerous balls across goal. He was given an 8/10 in our CeltsAreHere player ratings from the match for his performance.

As a result of Johnston’s virtuous display, he was given Team of the Week recognition:

The 24 year old has been a familiar face in the SPFL’s Team of the Weeks since signing for Celtic in January. In fact since his arrival in Glasgow, Johnston has been included in around a quarter of the teams which take into account all four divisions across the Scottish footballing pyramid.

This puts testament to his tremendous consistent levels which have seen him nail down the right back spot at Celtic and become a more than effectual contributor in Ange Postecoglou’s team.
