The Canadian right-back was involved in an incident which saw Rangers’ John Lundstram receive a red card after a VAR review of his tackle on Johnston.

Johnston, who continued playing despite the tackle but was later substituted in the second half, initially sparked concerns regarding his availability for the upcoming matches against Kilmarnock and St Mirren.

However, speaking to the media on Tuesday, Johnston alleviated fears about his condition. “My ankle feels alright. A bit swollen but structurally it’s okay, which is the most important thing. Happy with how it ended up being, it got a bit lucky in the end,” he explained.

Further boosting Celtic’s spirits, Johnston was seen participating in full training on Tuesday at Lennoxtown, suggesting he is good to go for Wednesday night.

Celtic travel to Kilmarnock on Wednesday before hosting St Mirren at the weekend, where they will lift the league trophy if they get one point in the remaining two games.

After that, it’s cup duty with a final against Rangers booked for Saturday, May 25.
