Alexandro Bernabei is all but set to join Internacional permanently from Celtic.
The left-back shone on loan at the Brazilian club, scoring three goals and registering five assists across 23 league appearances.

His eye-catching displays persuaded Inter enough to shell out £4.5m on his services, the club sealing a deal with Celtic at Parkhead last Friday.
The fee means the Scottish Premiership champions have made a profit on Bernabei, whom they bought for £3.75m in 2022 (BBC). His loan revival has undoubtedly helped the Bhoys in doing so, and the player himself puts it down to a few key alterations: “I changed my attitude, my desire to improve every day when it was my turn,” he said (Ole).
“I had the best with my teammates and I never stopped learning.
“The full-back position is a position that is highly regarded in Brazil. Coming to Brazil helped me a lot because of the way of playing with the ball, with full-backs who are very high up. The vast majority of full-backs attack.”
Argentina Ambitions
As well as continually improving for his club, Bernabei is eager to gain international recognition for his form.
The 24-year-old was named as the best left-back in Brazil last season, so an Argentina call-up can’t be a world away.
The current world champions have some top players in their ranks, and Bernabei wants to one day meet arguably the greatest of all time, Lionel Messi.
He said: “My dream is to play for the Argentina national team.
“We have to keep working. If it has to happen, it will. It would be a dream to play in my country’s shirt. I don’t know Messi and I’d love to meet him. If it’s on the pitch, all the better.”
Should Bernabei continue on from where he left off upon his Inter return, he will undoubtedly be noticed by national team manager Lionel Scaloni
It simply never worked out for the attack-minded full-back in Glasgow. Amid a needed change of scenery, culture, and language, he has excelled and shown his potential.
