Alex Valle has quickly adapted to life at Celtic, providing stiff competition for established left-back Greg Taylor.

With Taylor sidelined due to a calf injury, Valle is set to start in Celtic’s top-of-the-table clash against Aberdeen, an opportunity the 20-year-old is ready to seize.
The youngster is currently on loan from Barcelona and is impressing so far in his spell at Celtic.
Valle, reflecting on his relationship with Taylor and his own readiness to take on the challenge, said: [Football Scotland]
“I don’t know Greg’s situation right now. I just try to work for myself, and if I have the opportunity to play, I will give my best every game.
“I don’t mind if it’s Aberdeen or if it’s another team. For me, every weekend I try my best and that’s it. It’s a healthy competition between us. Greg has helped me a lot since I came here. Obviously, for the position, he can advise me really well. He’s already a very good friend.”
left-back is a potion that seems to have been up for grabs since Kieran Tierney left Celtic over half a decade ago.
Greg Taylor has had his place nailed down in recent years despite attempts from Diego Laxalt and Alexandro Bernabei.
Alex Valle seems like he could nail down a place in the Celtic team, displacing Greg Taylor.
It’s early days, but the potential is there.
The Spaniard is only on loan at Celtic, with no buy clause included in his contract.
However, there are rumours of a relatively low release clause on his Barca contract, so if he does well at the Hoops this season, Celtic could potentially look to explore that.
Greg Taylor is likely to miss the Aberdeen game, so Alex Valle could be in for his biggest test yet in a Celtic shirt.
