KRIS AJER was one of the first players to depart in Ange Postecoglou’s reign after he entered the final twelve months of his contract. Celtic managed to rake in a decent fee, receiving £13.5 million for the player.

He had a great first season in the Premier League and was key to Brentford’s midtable finish. This season hasn’t quite gone as planned, with the Norwegian internationalist struggling with injuries, but he’s still managed to make nine Premier League appearances and is looking to add to this after being involved in the side’s last few matchday squads.
Speaking on the Celtic View podcast, Ajer said he knew right from the start that Ange Postecoglou would be a success at Celtic and is pleased with how it’s panned out. He praised Callum McGregor, admitting he is “so happy” for his former teammate.
Kris Ajer said: [Football Scotland]
“I’m not surprised at all. I only had three weeks with Ange but I could tell already by then that he would be a massive success. The way Celtic are playing, the way Callum [McGregor] is leading, I’m so happy for him as well.
“He’s one of the most hard-working players I’ve ever met so he deserves everything he’s getting now. Everyone is just performing, they had some players that’s been there a long time and they had some players that really gets what it means to play for Celtic so I’m just very happy for everyone.”
Kris still watches Celtic’s games and will be tunning into the Cup Final on Sunday, with a rare weekend off. He claims that the Brentford team are “sick” of hearing him talk about Celtic.
“I watch almost every game so a Cup final on Sunday with Celtic and Rangers I will definitely be watching.
“The guys here at the training ground are sick of hearing me talking fondly about my time at Celtic.
“I absolutely loved it. It was five amazing years. I came as an 18-year-old boy. I was very insecure and didn’t speak any English. I signed as a No10, developed well, learned so much from so many spectacular players and good managers. To win nine trophies was amazing for such a massive club.”
