Matt O’Riley has been giving Celtic fans an inside look at the team’s pre-season tour in America through his recent Instagram post.
The midfielder posted several pictures showcasing the Bhoys’ exploits, including a notable visit to the White House. His light-hearted caption, “pre-season ain’t so bad,” an obvious understatement.
In one of the images, O’Riley and his teammates are seen enjoying their time in Washington D.C., clearly making the most of their trip. The pre-season tour has been an excellent opportunity for team bonding and preparation.
Despite the pre-season cheer, speculation about O’Riley’s future continues to swirl. The Danish international has been the subject of intense transfer interest from top European clubs. Atletico Madrid and Atalanta have both shown interest, with the latter reportedly keen on bringing him to Serie A. Celtic, however, have made it clear they value O’Riley highly, setting an asking price of over £25 million plus, which has deterred some suitors.
His performances, including a standout friendly against DC United where he scored twice, continue to highlight why he is such a valuable asset to the team.
It remains to be seen whether Celtic can hold on to one of their key players. With the Champions League looming, we really could do with him sticking around a little longer.
