An announcement for the player should follow shortly, with Ange Postecoglou suggesting the deal was almost done, barring any last-minute hiccups, saying, “When and if we announce it” when asked about the rumour during Friday’s press conference. [Celtic TV]
It’ll be Postecoglou’s eighth signing of the summer window as he strengthens his squad ahead of a title defence season with Champions League group stage action returning to Celtic Park.
Haksabanovic will link up with former teammate Carl Starfelt who made the same move last summer.
The fee Celtic are signing Haksabanovic for is currently undisclosed, but the £6 million asking price the Russian club had was said to be lowered, and Celtic was able to sign the former West Ham youngster for a cut price.
