Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke looks set to leave the club, with Eredivisie club Heerenveen reportedly close to securing a loan deal for the Swedish international.

Lagerbielke, who joined Celtic last summer from Elfsborg for £3 million, has struggled to secure a regular spot in Brendan Rodgers’ squads.
After a move to Lecce fell through last January due to an injury to teammate Cameron Carter-Vickers, Lagerbielke’s move was put on hold until this summer.
He’s now the subject of interest from Turkey and Italy, but Celtic have knocked back approaches for the American defender, not wanting to lose such a key player this summer.
Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph reported on social media that talks between Celtic and Heerenveen are now in an advanced stage.

Reports over the summer have stated that Celtic will look to move defenders on before bringing any more in. Lagerbielke’s exit could open the door to arrivals, with the left side of the defence needing improvements.
