Adam Idah’s Class Reaction to Kyogo’s ‘Unbelievable’ Goal vs Hibs

Adam Idah was full of praise for his fellow Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi when asked about the Japanese frontman’s goal against Hibernian yesterday.

Kyogo replaced the imposing Irishman with 23 minutes to go and found himself on the scoresheet shortly after.

James Forrest won the ball back high up the pitch and played in Kyogo with a lovely reverse pass. The 29-year-old then brilliantly controlled the ball on his instep and sat Hibees ‘keeper Matt Smith down before expertly lifting it over him and into the back of the net.

It was Kyogo’s eighth of the season in all competitions, and Idah couldn’t be more pleased for his colleague as he praised his efforts: “It was a brilliant goal,” he said (The Celtic Way).

“The touch and the finish are unbelievable. It was amazing. That’s what Kyogo brings to the team. He sparks that little bit of magic, and it’s what we need.

“You’ve seen it many times before, the types of finishes he can do, so it’s another thing added to the team as well.”

Brendan Rodgers has been consistent in his stance that neither Kyogo nor Idah is his number-one striking choice.

The manager likes to rotate the pair based on his tactics, the opponent, and the fixture schedule.

It remains to be seen who will get the nod now in Zagreb on Tuesday evening after yesterday’s victory.

All eyes are back on the UEFA Champions League as the Bhoys fly out to Croatia for a game where they could potentially secure qualification for the knockout stages.

The league cup final then beckons after that in what might be a season-defining week for the Hoops.
