Celtic striker Adam Idah has spoken out after a video showing him appearing drunk and vomiting outside a Glasgow taxi surfaced on social media.
The clip, believed to have been taken in mid-April, drew widespread attention online and prompted debate around player behaviour and personal privacy.
Addressing the incident publicly, the 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international confirmed it occurred during his own time off. “I will be videoed, but at the end of the day, I am a human being. I go out. I don’t have to stay inside all the time,” Idah told Thesun.ie, defending his right to unwind away from the demands of professional football. He also raised concerns about being recorded without consent and the mental impact of such invasions.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers threw his backing behind the forward at the time, taking issue with the culture of covert filming before stressing Idah’s dedication behind the scenes. The manager praised Idah for his work ethic, pointing to his use of a personal nutritionist and his willingness to take on additional training.

Captain Callum McGregor also weighed in, showing solidarity with his teammate. “Young boys will be young boys and that’s fine. As long as he’s producing in training and games, then it’s not really an issue for anyone,” McGregor told SunSport, reinforcing the squad’s support.
Speaking about next season and what comes next for the striker Idah knows a fresh challenge is coming from within.
“I know myself, the club probably are going to sign a new striker. It makes no difference to me, I’m still going to do my thing trying to do my best.”

The hoops have broke off for the summer after wining a double for the second season running. Adam and his teammates fell short in the final game of the season, failing to clinch a treble against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final.
They head into next season with the aim going one better.
