The Irish striker, who only made his permanent switch from Norwich last summer, is due to hold talks with the Championship side today as he edges towards the exit door at Parkhead.

The move would represent a quick turnaround for Idah, whose initial loan spell was a success but whose role under Brendan Rodgers has since become less certain over the last year. Celtic have now decided to cash in, with the fee expected to be supplemented by a series of performance-related add-ons.

Rodgers is ready to sanction the sale, but only if a replacement can be secured before Monday’s transfer deadline.
