Former Celtic striker and current pundit, Chris Sutton has revealed what he feels the club must do before the closing of the window, on Monday evening.
Speaking in his column for the Daily Record, Sutton insists that Neil Lennon must keep hold of key striker Odsonne Edouard and are ’for an addition in the left-back area of the pitch.
”It will be absolutely crucial Celtic do the business before deadline day in terms of arrivals and potential departures.
”Neil Lennon has to be sitting on Tuesday morning with his key men still in the building. That means Odsonne Edouard staying at the club.
“Celtic need to strengthen their squad, not diminish it and the coming days will be revealing of how the club is going to approach this season.
”We all know what Celtic need. They are screaming out for a left full-back or wing-back to help out Greg Taylor.”
With us making it through in Bosnia the other night against Sarajevo, you would be hoping that allows us to keep the likes of Edouard who could be crucial going into this season.
The board deserve big credit for the business they have done so far, spending what is thought to be around £13-15 million. And they will deserve even more if they can do some dealings in the last few days.
I did expect the club, to sell at least one of our assets, going into this season with all that is going on. But based on Neil Lennon’s comments the other night, that doesn’t seem to be the case as he is ’confident’ of keeping them.
Over the next few days, it is crucial that we have one last push, to keep our players and hopefully get one more deal over the line.
