STEPHEN MCGOWAN has claimed on Tuesday evening Aaron Hickey would prefer a move to Serie A with Bologna even though Bayern and ‘other clubs’ are interested. The senior Scottish football journalist delivered an update on a day where Hickey’s name had been mentioned with Celtic again.
Hickey appears to be in high demand and is not short of options. Celtic have always been keen on bringing the defender back to the club for a third time but it’s not been in the cards.
The noise on Monday night was that Celtic were closing in on a deal for Aaron but that news quietened down throughout Tuesday with McGowan’s update putting the prospect of a Parkhead return further away.

Celtic are in the market for a left-back with Boli Bolingoli expected to be sent out on a loan deal before the window closes in October. At the moment, Greg Taylor is the only first team left-back Neil Lennon can call upon. If he were to get injured, Celtic would be in trouble.
