‘A total and absolute farce’ – Latest SFA Decision Slammed

Livingston FC’s Business development manager has branded the Scottish Cup upheaval as a ‘total and absolute farce’ after his club’s tie against Aberdeen was brought forward a day.

Celtic were supposed to take on their Glasgow rivals at 4pm on Saturday as per Premier Sports request. However, the funeral of Prince Philip has thrown those plans out the window, but to be honest we’re unclear why that had to happen.

Instead of putting the derby on at 5:30pm on Saturday, Premier Sports have chosen to bring forward Livi vs Aberdeen to that slot and switch Celtic’s tie to Sunday at 3pm.

The worrying thing about David Black’s social media rant is his claim the clubs were not even consulted during the process of picking new dates and were told by the governing body they had no choice or input in the matter.

It surely means Celtic weren’t consulted about the decision to even move the tie to any other slot in the first place.

Premier Sports have been waiting patiently for a Glasgow Derby tie for some time and have been picking up the cup games in Scotland in the hope they would land the fixture.

Now they have it, they want to make sure it goes unopposed against English football. Had they run with the derby at 5:30pm on Saturday, it would have gone up against Man City vs Chelsea.

It has been a total farce in general and again we’re asking why Scottish football has to change what it’s doing for events happening down in London.
