Mikey Johnston got some more game time on Tuesday evening as the midfielder looks to cement his place in Neil Lennon’s side for the coming season.

The youngster has started off the season well and has been a constant thorn in the side of Celtic’s opposition. The player’s tricky feet being his biggest asset.

Johnston is rated very highly by Neil Lennon, so much so, the midfielder started the Scottish Cup final last term at the expense of Scott Sinclair.

His growth from the developments side continues and it could be a top season for the young lad if he can keep the momentum going.

Mikey took to Instagram last night to celebrate the 2-0 victory over Kalju in Estonia and one of his teammates Andrew Gutman deflated ‘a star is born’ in the comments below.

It’s hard to argue with that. Gutman has spent the summer with all his Celtic teammates and made friendships with some of the lads.
