According to Brendan Rodgers, it seems that Carl Starfelt is on his way out of Celtic and is close to joining Celta Vigo in Spain’s La Liga. After the match against Ross County, Rodgers confirmed that the Bhoys will need to find a replacement for Starfelt, who is departing for numerous reasons.

Rodgers said on the exit (The Scotsman): “There are obviously certain conditions he has thought about in going to one of the top leagues, and economically it is hard for Celtic to compete on that side. Obviously, his partner is no longer here anymore and has moved on. So there are a number of reasons why he would like to move on.”
It’s hard for Celtic to compete economically in one of the top leagues, and Starfelt’s partner has also moved on. In such situations, personal lives can affect players’ work, and Starfelt wants to be closer to his partner while playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
It’s a positive thing that the club has granted Starfelt’s wishes, as keeping him would only lead to his unhappiness and distraction. All parties seem to benefit from a move away at this stage.
Starfelt got the chance to say goodbye to Celtic fans on Saturday when Brendan Rodgers allowed him some game time in the second half of their victory over Ross County.
The Swede has won FIVE medals since coming to Celtic and came in at a time when the club was on its knees after the pandemic season. We wish him all the best.
