CELTIC Women overcame Glasgow City for the second time this week to book their place in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden.

The Ghirls opened the scoring after Caitlin Hayes marched into the opposition half, carrying the ball with her. She then played a brilliant through ball to Tasha Flint, who made no mistake as she hit the back of the net.
It was the only goal of the match, despite Celtic’s efforts to get a second. Even as the game was in its closing stages, the Ghirls continued pressing forward. They had to survive a wave of City attacks, with the keeper pulling off some great saves.
Celtic were reduced to 10, after Natalie Ross was shown a second yellow.

Celtic will face their rivals Rangers at Hampden on the 28th of May, after the men’s season is finished. Hopefully, the match can attract a decent attendance and come close to the record of just under 19,000.
City, who’ve remained undefeated all season in the SWPL1, have now lost three on the trot, with a visit to Celtic in May. Could a result like today give Fran Alonso and the Ghirls the belief that they could win the league?
