IBROX BOSS Michael Beale has owned up to being mistaken in his claim for a handball against Jota.

After reviewing the footage again, Beale conceded that the ball did not touch Jota’s arm, although he still maintains Alfredo Morelos‘ disallowed goal should have been allowed, despite the Columbian clearly pushing Johnston’s back.
Beale said: [Daily Record]
“I disagree with one decision and I got it wrong on another. The angle I had seen I thought it hit the boy’s arm but it hadn’t, so fair play, but I still think the first decision was the wrong one. It is up for debate but the game is gone, we can’t change the result or anything. It is a difficult job and on the day the referee goes to make the decision he sees.
“I happen to think in that moment it was wrong but across the whole game, you can’t count too many decisions that were up for debate. It was that one moment, but it was a good game and unfortunately we came off second best, I am disappointed in that more than anything else.”
Celtic ran out 3-2 winners, with Kyogo bagging a brace and Jota pouncing on a slack pass to score Celtic’s third.
The Hoops weren’t near their best on Saturday, but yet, they still managed to extend the gap at the top of the table, leading to Beale losing his own hypothetical league, which started when he walked through the Ibrox doors.
The visitors couldn’t hold their hand sup and admit the best team won, instead, they went into a meltdown and sent letters to the SFA and making up false claims, like Jota’s hand ball. It’s good to see Beale, eventually, setting the record straight on one thing.
