Chris Sutton Ridicules Ibrox Narrative After Celtic Defeat
The dust seems to have finally settled upon Celtic’s 3-2 Glasgow derby win at the weekend in which Ange Postecoglou’s men soared 12 points clear at the top of the table.
Nevertheless, the usual columns from pundits and the like continue to be released with ex Celtic striker Chris Sutton stating in his that in spite of a sub par performance on Saturday, Celtic still managed to taste victory, something that is vastly concerning for their city rivals (Daily Record):
“Celtic were below par but still had enough in the tank to win the match. That’s the concern for Rangers here – not a source of comfort. Are they wanting credit for not getting hammered by Celtic?”
Sutton thinks that it wasn’t a ‘vintage’ Celtic display however a lot of that could be put down to the way Rangers pressed and shut down the spaces.

Nevertheless, the Englishman said individual errors cost the Gers however credit has to be given to Celtic for forcing them in the first place.
He also said, however, not many would agree Rangers deserved to win the game:
“They can write all the letters to the SFA they like but look at all the stats.
“It was a close game but can anyone really say Rangers did enough to win it? I’m not even sure Rangers fans would believe that.”
After this, Sutton went on to say Rangers must get better for the Scottish cup semi final at the month’s end because Celtic will too:
“Rangers will need to be much better at Hampden, because Celtic certainly will be. Reo Hatate was a big miss for them at the weekend. He’s been such a key player in these encounters and his absence was a blow.”

Celtic were still able to triumph in spite of Hatate’s absence which is vastly positive. He may well be back for the semi final in a few weeks which is even better as the Hoops look to take a giant leap towards the treble.
