Jota Details ‘Ange’s Vision’ As Key Aspect Of Terrific Celtic Form

Celtic winger Jota has insisted that his side knows exactly what to do when the going gets tough and will remain focused during a big week for the club.

Ange Postecoglou’s side can now turn their attention towards back-to-back fixtures against Hearts in the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup after thumping St Mirren 5-1 in Paisley.

Jota was on the scoresheet as he pulled the Hoops level just after half time which set them on their way in the game.

In recent weeks, it was revealed that he was being taught to DJ by Buddies fan Ewan McVicar but wouldn’t entertain any chat after the game about it as he wants his performances on the pitch to be the main focus.

“I’ve not spoken to Ewan but maybe I’ll give him a call,” said Jota as quoted by the [Daily Record].

“What will I say? I’ll keep that to myself. Will I show him my goal? Maybe! I have been practising deejaying but that’s just a little hobby. It’s a passion of mine outside football. It’s an important week but the philosophy of this club is we think game to game, day after day. We don’t even think about the next game, it’s the next day of training. There’s no point in us looking to the future when we are still in the present. Let’s try to enjoy these beautiful times a much as we can because we can’t take it for granted.”

Sunday’s victory made it 25 domestic matches unbeaten for Celtic this season as the players crank it up heading into the final few months of the season as there is a potential treble at stake.

The Hoops never really got started in the first half after conceding an early penalty which was dispatched by Mark O’Hara. Having already lost against St Mirren away from home back in September some thought that the league leaders might have been in for a repeat as they hadn’t won in Paisley under Postecoglou in the previous two visits.

Jota was very quick to hit back at that and knows the responsibility that each of the players carries in the squad.

“Why would you think it wasn’t going to be our day? I think it depends on your approach, of course the red card changed things in the match but our approach remained the same.

“It was the same from the beginning, we knew how difficult the match was going to be and we knew exactly what to do. There are different times of the game and different things happening, but we had to adapt.

“There are two points here. Firstly, we trust each other, second, we know exactly what to do according to our way of playing and Ange’s vision.

“Everyone knows exactly what is required on the pitch and the spaces and opportunities will be there as long as we make the runs. If we keep doing our stuff, we will create chances.

“That’s happening in every game and then it’s up to us to score.”

As always, the attitude is bang on as there is a clear determination and focus from this team to be ready for any challenge ahead as they look to continually evolve and better themselves.
