John Kennedy Takes Celtic Media Duties; Brilliantly Addresses Ange Speculation

JOHN KENNEDY jested that Ange Postecoglou had been tied to a chair in his Lennoxtown office, with security watching over him, due to the increasing rumours of a move to Leeds United.

Ange Postecoglou had taken training on Friday morning but had asked his assistant manager to handle the media; not the best of timing from the manager, admittedly!

Kennedy spoke about how it was unsurprising to see Ange linked with a Premier League job but assured fans that the Aussie loves the position he’s in at the moment.

He said: [Clyde 1]

Weve tied him to the chair upstairs and got a couple of security at his door. Theres always speculation. Credit to the manager in terms of the job hes done here. Its a bit like players when they come and do well they get linked to other clubs.

The manager has shown himself his ability as a manager and when you do that and you have success you attract attention and thats whats happened but ultimately its a lot of speculation. There is a lot of noise. I know first hand the way he works. Hes really focused on his job here. He loves being here and is in the middle of building something very special and his mind is firmly focused on being at Celtic and doing the best he can.

Ange has a league cup to win in a few weeks’ time, with a league title to secure and a Scottish Cup to compete for; he’s not going to abandon three trophies to join a relegation scrap with Leeds; there’s no way that’s on his mind.

He still has a lot to prove as a manager too, with Europe a disappointment for Celtic this season. He’ll be looking to do better next season, and prove himself at the top level.
