As the deadline approaches, there will be a few Celtic players who are subject to last minute interest.
One of them appears to be Stephen Welsh, who Ange has said this week ‘isn’t likely’ to leave in the January window.
Despite that, Ange was careful with his words incase anything materialises for the defender in the coming days.
It’s being reported by Yorkshire live journalist Ricky Charleswortth that Sheffield Wednesday are looking to potentially sign the Celtic defender before the deadline.
Welsh has been used sparingly and despite fellow centre back Moritz Jenz leaving the club during January, Stephen’s time will still be limited due to Yuki Kobayashi coming in.
Our four centre backs include Welsh at present so Ange might not want to part with Welsh unless absolutely necessary.
The manager does expect some outgoings whether they be permanent or loan. If Welsh is looking to develop, he will more than likely have to leave his boyhood heroes to fulfil his professional ambitions. Watch this space.
