Ibrox boss Michael Beale has taken an extraordinary cheap shot at Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou by attributing his success primarily to financial clout.
Postecoglou had the task of transforming a disjointed team, which had been battling on-field issues and a divided fanbase, into champions of Scotland and he achieved it in just eleven months.
Beale, however, seems to think that the only reason for Postecoglou’s success is his ability to spend money. In an interview with RecordSport, he said: “We don’t spend the most money in this country. Celtic have made three signings and people are asking: ‘Are you going to make three’? No, we will do what we think (is best). But also, they spend a lot more money than us. So Ange is a lucky man because he’s spent a lot of money.” Beale told RecordSport.
“He’s a good coach – but he’s spent a lot of money. I know who I want here and who is free to go or I’d like to move on. I know the areas I’d like to strengthen. But I think it’s going to take one, two, three windows to get who I want. You’re talking about a 25 percent turnover, which is natural over three windows. We have to get a lot of decisions right and do a lot of quality work.”

It’s incredible comments from Beale who looked to be warning Rangers fans they’re skint by veiling it between a dig at Celtic.
The Hoops are incredibly well run and very well supported. It’s why we can go out and make a rebuild happen. You can spend money and buy absolute nonsense, but Ange has used his knowledge to great effect.
Ange came in with people laughing at him, by the end of that season, nobody was laughing.
Beale has been desperately trying to appeal to the staunch side of the Ibrox support and is already making excuses. To talk about another manager like that without provocation is highly disrespectful.
Ange will just keep on doing what he’s doing. And if Rangers can’t keep up without a pandemic or beneficiary trusts – that’s on them.
