Daizen Maeda has been linked with a move to Southampton this week after Football Scotland reported the English club is tracking the Japanese star.
Maeda has just come off a successful World Cup run with Japan and has really hit the ground running for Celtic since the domestic restart.
Southampton sit rock bottom of the English Premier League and are in desperate need of some talented reinforcements. The recruiters at the club have dipped into the Celtic pool in the past.
Celtic sold Virgil van Dijk, Victor Wanyama, Fraser Forster and Stuart Armstrong to the English side over the past ten years.

All those signings have made an impact for Southampton, it’s little wonder they’re searching back at a pool that’s done very well for them in the past. The only thing is now Celtic will be demanding more for their top talent than they once died.
Football Scotland claim there will be Southampton scout at the League Cup semi-final when Celtic take on Kilmarnock.
We know every Celtic player has their price, but we doubt Daizen would be looking to move halfway through the season. The attacker could have signed for Celtic sooner but wanted to see out the season with Yokohama Marinos.
