Ange Postecoglou’s Outstanding Response to Michael Beale Outburst

Ange Postecoglou put Michael Beale firmly in his place on Monday evening when asked to comment on another outlandish comment from the Ibrox manager.

Before the derby on Monday afternoon, Beale was adamant Ange wouldn’t have won a double in his first Celtic season had he and Steven Gerrard stuck around. Beale walked away from the club and moved to Villa with the Covid Cup winning manager and left them all in the lurch

Now he’s back as manager, he’s doing his best to get all the fans on side as much as possible. If that means talking garbage to appease those fans, then so be it.

When asked to comment on Beale’s assertion about last season, Ange Postecoglou answered in the most Ange Postecoglou fashion; a scathing but classy response.

“I assume that’s his opinion, what that means to me I don’t really know…” the Celtic manager told the Scotsman. “It doesn’t really worry me. I’m not focused on last year, I’m focused on this year. Last year’s story is written. There is a trophy that is in our cabinet. I’m just worried about this year, that’s all I’m focused on.

“I don’t talk about last year with our team or within these walls. If people ask me about last year that story has already been written, the answers are there. My focus is on this year, what we are going to do now and for the rest of this season. That’s all I care about.”

Beale has proven nothing as a manger yet. He was served up a lukewarm Celtic side on Monday that didn’t really get going, and he still couldn’t manage to get the win.

For Celtic, they can’t play much worse than they did in the new year’s derby. However, we still managed to secure an all important point.
