Celtic Issue Minute Silence Statement

CELTIC has confirmed there will be a minute silence before the Glasgow derby on Monday at Ibrox.

Rangers will be holding a minute silence for the victims of the Ibrox disaster. A harrowing episode in Scottish football history where Celtic Legend Jock Stein was there and desperately trying to get supporters to safety.

Celtic has also confirmed that the minute silence will also be for Frank McGarvey, Pope Benedict and Pelé.

Frank passed away in the early hours of New Year’s Day after a battle with cancer. The Celtic fans were shocked and saddened to hear of Frank’s passing and will want to make sure they pay tribute to the Celtic legend.

The bhoys have confirmed there will be more respects paid to Frank when the bhoys return to Paradise.

Frank was a man who dreamed of playing for Celtic and lived out that dream. He was a gentleman, and a loyal Celt right to the very end.

Celtic will wear black armbands during the Glasgow Derby too.
