Celtic are reportedly front runners to sign World Cup striker Cho Gue-sung after weeks of speculation surrounding the South Korean’s future.
South Korean media outlet Kukje Shinbun have stated Celtic are favourites to sign £2.2m rated frontman this January.
Celtic would likely be in the market for a striker this window to help them bed in for the beginning of next season. However, the importance of the transfer could be expedited if Gorgios Giakoumakis is allowed to leave in January.
Rumours surrounding the big Greek’s future coincided with the first murmurings of a move for Cho Gue-sung.
The 24-year-old currently plays in the South Korean league with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
Ange Postecoglou has already secured two transfers before the beginning of the transfer window. Yuki Kobayashi and Alistair Johnston have signed with the club already.
Ange isn’t messing around and warned Celtic fans this team needs to evolve. Meaning he will need to sell some players to make way for new signings to push on.
