Video: Former Celtic Academy Star Grabs Headlines

Former Celtic academy graduate Ben Doak once again made headlines after featuring for Liverpool in their friendly win over AC Milan.

The Reds have been playing over in Dubai as they prepare for their return to domestic action having beaten the Italian champions 4-1 and although he only made a seven minute cameo he did come on and grab an assist.

Doak has already caught a few headlines at the Anfield club as he edges closer to the first team with Jürgen Koop looking as though he fancies bringing the 17-year-old into the first team fold.

He made his senior debut for the first team as Liverpool beat Derby County on penalties in the EFL Cup. Following that, he was rewarded with a spot on the bench in the clubs final Premier League match before the break against Southampton.

There is a possibility that the youngster may go out on loan this January as he is being linked with a move to Premier League side Nottingham Forest which would again further his development.

Celtic likely couldn’t have done anymore to keep ahold of Doak and his decision to move down south seems to have paid off.

He will no doubt want to make a further impact in the second part of this season after the World Cup break.
