Barry Bannan was full of praise for former Celtic star Tom Rogic after his performance against Sunderland in the Monday night game.

Rogic departed the Scottish champions in the summer after a very successful nine years in Glasgow to seek pastures new.

Initially, it had been reported that the Australian international was considering a move closer to home but that didn’t surface and he found himself heading south to the English Championship under the stewardship of Steve Bruce.

Results didn’t go well for Bruce who was sacked by The Baggies in mid October after a poor run of form.

He was replaced with Spaniard Carols Corberán who hasn’t been playing the 29-year-old midfielder all to often having only made six appearances for the club before last night’s impactful appearance off the bench.

Rogic scored another cracking goal which pulled his side right back into the game before Daryl Dike went on to score the winner.

Being a big Celtic fan, Bannan will have watched Rogic burst the net on numerous occasions for the Hoops and appeared to have enjoyed his first goal in English football.

The former Scotland international has played down south the whole of his football career and knows the Championship very well.

It says it all that he believes that the Australian is ‘wasted’ in the league.
