Celtic Boosted With Starfelt Return

Carl Starfelt returned to the Celtic starting 11 domestically for the first time since early September having missed a lengthy period due to injury.

So far, it’s been a stop start season for the Swede having missed all of the Hoops pre-season after he was injured on international duty.

He slowly started to make his return to the Celtic side in August but was once again hindered by injury but did manage to bag his first couple of goals in green and white hoops before being out for a lengthy period.

His first baptism of fire back after the most recent setback was being thrown in at the deep-end in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu to face Real Madrid with Cameron Carter-Vickers left out due to a knock.

Both men had formed such a key partnership during Postecoglou’s first season at the club and the 27-year old will hope to make his way back into the first team after the World Cup break with this being the prime time to get prepared for what is to come.

During the victory against Motherwell, he was lucky to avoid yet another injury after what looked to be a red card challenge from Josh Morris that was left by VAR.

Getting another 90 minutes under his belt at Fir Park will do Starfelt the world of good as he builds up his match sharpness to where it has to be. He may even be given the nod once again as Celtic take on Ross County in their final match before the World Cup.
