Virgil van Dijk has told Gary Neville Celtic is one of the biggest clubs on the planet, and people don’t realise it.
Speaking to the former Manchester Utd captain, Virgil spoke about not understanding fully how big Celtic was until he was in Glasgow, pulling on the Hoops.
The Liverpool defender believes his time at Celtic helped pave the way for the success he’s had in his career. Playing in the Champions League with the Hoops, winning trophies and developing.
The Dutchman has gone on to win the English Premier League and the Champions League since leaving Celtic. The fact he still looks at Celtic and believes we are one of the biggest clubs on the planet speaks volumes.

When the big man played at Celtic, you could tell just how good he was. We got two seasons out of him before the centre-back moved to Southampton.
It’s great to see the way his career has panned it and the affection Virgil still has for the club.
