‘See What Happens’ – Celtic Target Open to January Transfer

CELTIC were linked to Ryan Mmaee throughout the summer transfer window [RecordSport], as Ange Postecoglou looked to bring another striker to the club.

The striker is now focused on the World Cup, which commences in a few weeks. His nation, Morocco, will share a group with Croatia, Belgium and Canada.

While previewing the World Cup, he’s admitting he won’t be at Ferencvaros forever and admits that he will be on the move soon.

As quoted by the Daily Record, he admitted interest from clubs in the summer and expects this to continue into the January window.

“There was serious interest from other clubs, but I was just recovering from an injury at the time, so it wasn’t the ideal time to leave. The World Cup is my main goal at the moment and I also play in a very good team here in Hungary. But it is also clear that I am not going to stay here for ever so we will see what happens.”

It would make sense for Celtic to tempt the player to the club in January. There are only two strikers at the club, with Postecoglou rotating between Giakouamkis and Kyogo. But, if one of them is to get injured, the squad is suddenly very light in the striking department.

Of course, there will be plenty of other names that Celtic will be exploring but Ryan Mmaee is one to keep an eye on.
