The former Ibrox man has guided his side to some terrific form this season, and with just a game left to play, Yokohama sits two points clear. In second place is Reo Hatate’s former side, Kawasaki.

To confirm their championship, they must win against Visel Kobe. Kyogo’s former side looked to be in a relegation battle earlier in the season but have managed to steer clear since.

It’s been a competitive league this season, with Muscat doing a good job with the side. There were murmurings that Ange was looking to bring his former assistant with him to Glasgow, but instead, he recommended him to take over at Yokohama, and his recommendation has led to success.

He’s continued to build on the foundations that Ange left.

It’s doubtful that Muscat will ever land a job in Paradise, but it’s clear that Postecoglou is mentoring other coaches in the game.
