GREG TAYLOR was Celtic’s unlikely hero, with the left-back coming on from off the bench to score the winning goal.
He ventured into the box, from his left-back position, before meeting the ball and striking it into the back of the net.
The player has been top-class all season, with last term’s form following him in.
He told Celtic TV after the match;
“It was a good feeling to score and an important three points most importantly.
“I think it’s important to add it wasn’t the manager’s instruction to play as high as I did. I seen the play develop out there, and as Liel went to shoot or cross, I gambled to be honested and thankfully I managed to get a toe on it.
”the euphoria took over my body, and to do it in front of that outstanding away support was just amazing.
“It’s right up there. You can’t control yourself. It’s just pure elation. The fans deserved that. they backed up even when we went down in periods.
“I’m a wee bit speechless. It was just amazing.”
His goal could be vital in the season’s title defence. If Celtic had dropped points, The Rangers would’ve had the chance to draw level with the Ibrox side welcoming Livingston in a 3 pm kick-off.
Celtic were unlucky with some of the VAR calls, with some shockingly poor decisions, but the winning mentality shone through as the Hoops pushed for the winner. They responded well to Hearts pushing in front early in the second half, scoring two goals in quick succession. Greg Taylor’s goal won Celtic the three points after Hearts pulled themselves level from twelve yards.
