Celtic midfielder Aaron Mooy is continuing to make strides in a Celtic jersey after another impressive performance at the weekend.
He was one of the standout performers as Celtic battered Hibs 6-1, with Mooy adding two assists during the match picking out James Forrest for his hat-trick goal and Daizen Maeda to complete the scoring.
The 32-year-old has tended to play in the pivot for the Hoops under Postecoglou but with Matt O’Riley now occupying the position since Callum McGregor’s injury, Saturday was a chance to see the Australian international a bit further forward in what would be considered a ‘number 8.’

He appeared to thrive in the game with the urgency of O’Riley and Hatate beside him and easily had his best game for Celtic. It was also great for him to get only his second ninety minutes which will do him the world of good heading into Celtic’s final eight fixtures in 25 days.
With the players heading off to join their international sides in less than a month, Mooy will be hoping to get as much game time as possible before the World Cup, with Australia drawn in a group against France, Denmark and Tunisia.
The former Brighton midfielder will be hoping to play a key part in the next run of games for the Scottish champions as he looks to get up to speed before the tournament. It’s likely that he will feature against Motherwell at Fir Park on Wednesday evening.
